Classic Imperials

Rick Evans from the Classic Imperials music group visited with the Wildmen leadership last Saturday and presented us with 200 tickets to attend their upcoming concert. It will be at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg on Saturday May 14th at 6:30pm.

The Imperials are an American Christian music group that has been around for over 45 years. Originating as a southern gospel quartet, the innovative group would become pioneers of contemporary Christian music in the 1960s. There have been many changes for the band in membership and musical styles over the years. They would go on to win four Grammys, and be inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

On a personal note, I fondly remember “rocking out” to the Imperials in my Corvair in the early 80’s,  tape-deck blaring at full volume, blessing all around. I’m quite looking forward to attending this concert with my wife.
